Words
Apparently, I've already been living in the gayborhood too long. I caught myself tonight singing along to Tori Amos's "Yes, Anastasia," but I'd gotten the words wrong. For the line that goes "If you know me so well, then tell me which hand I use," I was singing, "If you know me so well, then tell me which gender I use." I had the song on repeat long enough that I finally noticed it, and when I thought about it logically, it just didn't make sense. So I had to look it up. And lo and behold, it's not a gender empowerment tune. Makes the line "we'll see how brave you are" totally different now.

Y'know, i'm gonna go ahead and confess this to you: i too sing along to this one. In fact, it's the only Tori Amos song i own, purchased on iTues about 2 years ago. No shame.
